Welcome to our class page!  Here you will find information about our class and all the fun things we do in Reception.

Snack Time /Amser Snac

We have snack time every afternoon.  Children are invited to bring a healthy snack to eat at snack time (e.g. a piece of fruit or sticks of vegetables).  For safety reasons, if children bring grapes for snack, these must be cut in half.  Please send your child's snack in a sealed pot or food bag clearly labelled with their name to avoid confusion.  These will be collected on arrival and stored in the Lower School kitchen until needed.    Children can also bring a bottle of water to keep in class to drink throughout the day.

PE

Dosbarth Melyn have PE lessons every Tuesday.  Children can wear PE kit to school (black/navy joggers or leggings, white t-shirt and school jumper or cardigan).  For safety reasons, please remove all jewellery before coming to school on PE days.  

Homework

Homework is set on our Seesaw platform.  Please log in and check your activity list to access homework tasks.  The children are provided with sound boards to practise their phonic skills at home and, when thy are ready, will also bring home a reading book.  Please try to practise these for a few minutes a day.  They will also be given a reading record book, please use this to write down how your child is getting on with their sounds / reading at home.   

Learning can be Messy!

Please be aware that our little learners will get messy in school.  We do ensure children wear aprons but when you're little and exploring, mess can get everywhere!  We ask that you do not put your best clothes or coats on for school just in case! Take a look below to see what the mess on our clothes shows.

Outdoor Learning

We spend lots of time learning outdoors - even if its raining!  Please make sure your child has a suitable coat in school to enable them to enjoy outdoor play and fresh air in all weathers.
