Dosbarth Gwyrdd (Year 3)

Welcome to Dosbarth Gwyrdd

Croeso i Dosbarth Gwyrdd

Mrs Matthews and Mr Reynolds would like to welcome you to our class.

Unfortunately, at the moment Mr Reynolds is unable to attend school. We are lucky to have supply cover for his absence.

Here is some general information about our class routines:

As we are a healthy school children are asked to bring in a bottle of water and a healthy snack each day.

Our class P.E. lesson is on Monday afternoon. Please ensure your child wears black shorts or joggers, a white top and trainers. During the Spring term we are also attending Abertillery Leisure Centre for swimming lessons. These will take place for four session.

Our topic this term is 'I Wonder'.

As a class we use 'Pupil Voice' to plan exciting opportunities for our learning experiences. We are looking forward to spending lots of time learning outside. This term our focus is on 'STEM', science, technology, engineering and mathematics. We are completing lots of investigations into materials and their uses.

Our School Council Representatives are: Brianna Wallbank and Kaylun Meek. For Criw Cymraeg we have Brianna Wallbank and Ryelee Gore. Finally, Pippa Wall and Fletcher Haile. Thank you all for representing the class.

Please take some time to look at some of the photographs of our areas of learning.

We are always busy working at creating displays for our class. Please enjoy looking at some of our work.

In our class we are able to earn individual rewards for positive behaviour, kindness to others and excellent work.

As a class we have earned hundreds of rewards collectively. We celebrate everyones achievements when they reach a star of 10,20,30,40,and now 50 dots. We encourage each other to succeed.

Homework will be set on Seesaw each Friday. Spellings to learn at home are also uploaded to Seesaw. We have a spelling test each Friday. Individual readers are listened to in class. We are now pleased to be able to send reading books home for you to enjoy reading with your child. Please record the pages you have read together and write a comment in their indiviual reading record book. Please now use thier Giglet account to support reading and comprehension skills as part of the homework each week.

Very soon the childrne will be moving on to their new class in September. We have had a fabulous year and working together has been so important. If you need to speak to Mrs Matthews or Miss Preece, please see us on the gate at the beginning or end of the day or call the office to make an appointment. Thank you for your continued support.
