On behalf of the governors and staff, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Coed-y-Garn Primary School.

We are a happy, nurturing school, and take great pride in enabling our children to thrive in such a way that they become self-motivated in their own education. Our teaching and support team work together to provide a wide range of opportunities to develop the skills, interests and abilities of all children. Staff are dedicated to providing the best knowledge and education, and we work hard to ensure that every child receives a programme of teaching that addresses their individual needs.

As a school community we take great pride in educating children in a purposeful and calming environment where everyone experiences success. We expect children to make good educational progress and be proud of their own and others achievements. Nurturing attitudes is as important as developing skills, and we place great emphasis on developing qualities of empathy and respect which are at the root of equality. 

We are very proud to be a Silver Rights Respecting School, demonstrating good progress towards embedding children’s rights in school policy, practice and ethos, as outlined in the RRSA Strands and Outcomes. Children and staff work effectively together in our Eco Committee and School Council to improve the school for the benefit of all. We aim to develop self-disciplined individuals who care not only for themselves but also for those around them.

Home-school links and parent/carer involvement is actively encouraged, as support from home is essential - in partnership together we will work for the benefit of our children.
