Sleep @CyG
Following review of the SHRN data 2025, we have asked pupils about their sleep routines to help us understand how well they are rested in readiness for a day in school. The responses have given us a helpful picture of what is working well for our children in Y3-6, and where we can work together as a school community to help children feel more settled, alert and ready to learn. What have we learned from the sleep survey @CyG? o Many children go to bed later than recommended, especially at weekends o A large number of pupils say they feel tired in the morning and during the day o Screen use (phones, tablets, games or TV) before bed is very common o A minority of children find it hard to fall asleep or wake during the night o Bedtime routines vary a lot, and some children do not have a regular routine
It is important to remember that children thrive on routines. A clear bedtime routine and earlier nights, with less screen time, will have a positive impact, regardless of their age. |
